Why or Why not?
In our country today the main cry is gun control. This is a very controversial subject and I am here to share my opinion and let you share yours. Below is the form to fill out if you want to tell me what you think. I will posts as many entries as I can. Before you fill out the form please, consider the following...
The two major incidents that have all of Washington up in arms about gun control are the Columbine incident and now the death of this little girl in Michigan. In the first case the two killers had broken 12 different gun laws before they entered the school. Twelve. But that did not stop them. Now everyone is saying that gun locks should be required so little kids can't get there hands on guns and kill other kids. This is an absurd example and would have had no effect on this situation because I really don't think that a crack dealer would put a gun lock on his illegal gun! He was breaking the law just to have possession of the gun so what makes anyone think he would put a lock on the gun so that his nephew would not take it and shot someone. Come on that is just not likely to happen. Why does the American public want to make it hard for its law abiding citizens to buy a gun for self defense or hunting. As in the two most famous examples that I have cited new gun laws would have made no difference because the ones on the book did not have any effect. We need to stop pressuring our congress men and women to make new gun laws and pressure our police agencies to enforce the current laws. I would even go so far as to say we need to take some current gun laws off the books so that it is easier to buy a fire arm for self defense. For more information please visit www.nra.org
